Why choose this subject? GCSE Drama is an exciting, inspiring and practical course that promotes involvement in and enjoyment of drama, as performers and designers. Additionally it provides opportunities to attend live theatre performances and to develop skills as informed and thoughtful audience members. Students will have the opportunity to learn transferable skills such as critical analysis, problem solving, organisation and time management and have the opportunity to practise applying these skills to new situations. |
Course content In GCSE Drama students will study a range of practitioners and theatre styles. They will have the opportunity to devise and perform their own work as well as working on scripted pieces. There will also be opportunities to study technical aspects of theatre, including lighting and directing. The course will develop your analytical and critical thinking skills allowing you to become both an independent enquirer and team player which are desirable qualities in higher education and the world of work.
