The Lion King Theatre Trip

On Wednesday 5th February, the Performing Arts team took 40 students to see The Lion King at the Lyceum Theatre London, and what a day it was!

Travelling down on the train in the winter sunshine, we alighted at London Blackfriars and walked down the South Bank soaking in the sights of Saint Paul's, Big Ben and the London Eye.

We arrived at the theatre and students settled down in their seats, snacks in hand, ready for the show to begin. For the next 2 and half hours, we were transported to the African Savannah with Rafiki, Simba and the whole gang.

The show was incredible; the use of the aisles in the performance meant that students were able to experience that up close feeling; a highlight was one poor Year 11 receiving a fright from the hyenas bounding past her during ‘Be Prepared’!

The songs, dance numbers and moving performances from the cast meant the students were enraptured from start to finish. Our students were an absolute credit to our school, and it will definitely be an experience they will remember and they have the mountains of photos and selfies to prove it!
