Lealands Remembers
At 11:00 a.m. on Monday 11th November 2024, Lealands High School came together as a community to honour the sacrifices of those who have lost their lives in conflicts past and present.
The service began with Mr. Patterson sounding "The Last Post," marking the start of a reflective two-minute silence.
In a moving tribute, Head Boy Harry and Head Girl Tahlia each recited Bill Mitton's poignant poem, Young Sons, capturing the solemnity and gratitude of the occasion. A representative from each tutor group placed a poppy cross in the school’s memorial garden, followed by Headteacher Mr. Burridge laying a commemorative poppy wreath.
The gathering provided a unifying moment for students and staff, creating a shared sense of respect and gratitude. This reflective ceremony reinforced the Lealands High School values of respect, responsibility, and excellence, allowing everyone present to honour those who served with dignity and gratitude.
