RSE Consultation Information
Dear parents/carers,
During the last academic year, in line with Department for Education requirements, we have been reviewing our relationships and sex education (RSE) curriculum and policy, so we can be sure our RSE provision is appropriate for our students based on their:
- Age
- Physical and emotional maturity
- Religious and cultural backgrounds
- Special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND)
We have drafted an updated policy which we would appreciate your feedback on in order to help us finalise the plans.
Here’s how you can help:
We would welcome any comments on the proposed policy. If you have any comments about the policy or wish to express your viewpoints about any aspect of the policy or RSE curriculum, please email admin@lealands.luton.sch.uk and your comments will be read and reviewed before finalising the policy. These comments should be submitted before Friday 10th September.
We are also delivering a presentation on RSE on Wednesday 15th September at 5.30pm. This will include a discussion about the proposal, and you will be given the opportunity to give your views and feedback. If you would like to attend, please email admin@lealands.luton.sch.uk before Monday 6th September.
The presentation and discussion should take no more than 1 hour.
Below are some documents to help you understand the curriculum requirements we need to meet, please take a look at the summary of what all pupils are expected to know by the end of secondary school. If you are planning to attend the presentation and discussion, please read this before the meeting.
Thank you for your time.
