Relationship & Sex Education
Your child’s Religion and Society curriculum will include the Relationship & Sex Education that is relevant to them this academic year.
Relationship & Sex Education is an important part of a young person’s education and our aim is to provide students with factual information and enable them to make healthy, informed choices as they move into adult life. We aim to increase knowledge, change attitudes and enhance skills, in order to positively impact young people’s behaviour.
These lessons are taught by teachers within our humanities department who have been provided with specialist training in the subject. Some topics within the curriculum will be taught in single-sex groups, where it is felt this is appropriate.

In order to reassure you that our SRE curriculum is thoughtful and appropriate, our curriculum materials are available to view on the curriculum section of our school website. It is important to us that parents, as their child’s most important teachers in this area, are fully aware of our curriculum content and have full trust in our intentions in this important area of personal development for our students.
I would also like to invite you to our Relationship and Sex Education Parental Information Evening, to be held on Thursday 8th January 2026. You can sign up for one of two sessions; either 4.00pm or 5.00pm. This presentation will give specific detail about our curriculum. If you wish to attend, please use this Google form to register. The link is available on the letter that was emailed home on 17/12/2025.
If you have any questions related to these subjects or other aspects of your child’s Religion and Society lessons, please do not hesitate to contact Mr White, Director of Humanities on 01583 611600.
