Lealands Raises £530 for Macmillan Cancer Support
Once again, Lealands High School joined the ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
The event was organised by catering teacher Miss Amanda Selby, food tech teacher Mr Diccon Burr, English teacher Miss Angela Bews and a group of Lealands’ Year 9 students.
On the day, staff held their own version of the ‘Bake Off’. The entries were fantastic and the competition was extremely tough! Students baked a variety of cakes and cupcakes during lesson time to ensure there was enough to go round the whole school during tutor time, break time and lunchtime. It was overwhelming the amount and variety of cakes which were available.
Each year group took it in turns to visit the cake sale with both members of staff and students working together to ensure it all ran smoothly and everyone got their cake.
The Macmillan Coffee Morning has become an annual event at Lealands and this year the total raised was an impressive £530. This is a fantastic achievement and reflects the commitment, hard work and support by everyone involved.
