Summer School 2024
During the Summer, Year 6 students were invited to attend Lealands High School’s Summer School, designed to ensure a smooth transition from primary to secondary school.
Each day, students participated in a variety of engaging activities, including; dance, PE, art, and teambuilding exercises. These activities were aimed at boosting the prospective Year 7 students' confidence and alleviating any anxieties they may have had about starting secondary school.
Summer School was led by members of our dedicated staff, alongside students from all year groups, including the recently appointed Student Leaders, who served as excellent role models for the younger students. By encouraging full participation, the team ensured that everyone had a great time while also learning important social skills and becoming more familiar with life at Lealands.
Summer School provided ample opportunities for the Year 6 students to interact with one another, helping them form new friendships before the school year began. We hope it not only reassured the soonto-be Year 7s, but also gave them a sense of belonging in their new school; easing any fears about starting this new chapter in their education. By fostering friendships, building confidence, and helping students get accustomed to the school environment in a fun and relaxed way, Summer School ensured that students felt well-prepared and supported for the journey ahead!
